In last week’s news we talked about the big plans for Dragon’s Forge that are coming to fruition in the weeks and months ahead. The first of these is our online store, where you’ll be able to choose from hundreds of beautifully sculpted fantasy miniatures for all your roleplaying, tabletop gaming and hobby needs.
Among the first miniatures that will be available in the store is this collection of awesome Ironpelt Dwarf Barbarians – fearsome warriors that prefer a savage way of life on the frozen peaks of mountains, rather than under them in the fashion of their Stonebreaker kin. Terribly uncivilised!
How uncivilised are they exactly? To answer that, let us turn to the bloody tale of Brekka Ulfurbane, mad chieftain of the Gnzarrgah Clan. When the infant Brekka was abandoned in the mountains that border the Hrundagath Wastes, she refused to succumb to the bitter cold and roving predators. She was a born survivor.
Even as a child, Brekka was fiercely independent and not one for sentimentality. Given the choice between being raised by a pack of wolves and beating them to death for their pelts using nothing but her fists, Brekka opted for the latter.
Drenched in blood, wearing the fur of the alpha wolf as protection against the blizzard and hauling the skins of six more, Brekka eventually encountered an encampment of fellow dwarves - the Gnzarrgah Clan. Or rather, they encountered her.
By her fifth year Brekka was already skilled in the use of sword, axe and warhammer – often at the same time. By twelve she had bested her chieftain in combat atop the peak of Mount Icehorn to claim leadership of the clan. Now fully grown, with a horde of loyal companions at her side and still wearing the pelt of her first kill (presumably unwashed), Brekka Ulfurbane has become a name spoken of in terrified whispers by the frontier folk of Galberand. Her raids are the stuff of nightmares, and the fearsome reputation of the Ironpelt Dwarves is due in no small part to Brekka’s legend.
The Ironpelt Dwarf Barbarians are coming to our online store (along with a mountain of other miniatures and a complete website overhaul) in November 2021. Start sharpening your axes - you really don’t have long to wait!
